Robert Downey Jr.: Nerdage’s #2 actor

Claiming the No. 2 spot in Nerdage’s Top 25 actors with geek appeal is Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.   Downey reprises his role as Tony Stark in “Iron Man 2,” thus far the summer’s biggest hit.  He also starred as detective Sherlock Holmes in last year’s film by that title.

“I have an embarrassment of riches, but it all comes down to the fact that when I’m working with people I work really hard,” he said in an interview with Nerdage. “When I’m a worker amongst workers the results are really, really, really satisfying.”

In the future, he’s likely to appear in another “Iron Man” sequel, as well as possibly “The Avengers.”  He’s set to star in a sequel to “Sherlock Holmes,” and his name has been bandied about in connection with a “Wizard of Oz” prequel called “Oz: The Great and Powerful.”
