Happy 35th anniversary, Star Wars!

The original “Star Wars” opened in theaters 35 years ago, on May 25, 1977.

Since then, it’s spawned TV shows, books, comics, toys, merchandise, sequels, prequels and more.

According to Box Office Mojo, it was made for $11 million, and has brought in $797,900,000.

Along the way it’s become a cultural touchstone and a sci-fi phenomenon.
