Comics writer Sterling Gates to sign in Norman on Wednesday, Nov. 2

Comics writer and Oklahoma native Sterling Gates returns to Norman on Wednesday to sign at Speeding Bullet Comics, 614 N Porter Ave. in Norman.

Gates will sign his books from 5 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Gates is writing “Hawk and Dove” as part of DC Comics’ “The New 52” line, which launched in September and set sales records. The New 52 is a company-wide relaunch, offering a new take on DC’s classic characters.  Gates is working with artist Rob Liefeld (“Youngblood”) on “Hawk and Dove.”  A preview of “Hawk and Dove” issue #3 is available at Hero Complex.

Other new Sterling Gates projects:
Captain Victory from Dynamite:  Captain Victory is a space epic based on the works of Jack Kirby.
Unite and Take Over:  Gates provided a story for this anthology based on the songs of the Smiths.
Gathering Vol. 6:  Gates wrote a story for this horror anthology comic.
