With recruiting season in full swing, I will be evaluating all 26 prospects who are currently committed to the Oklahoma State football program. I will go in alphabetical order and will post three or four evaluations per day during the next week.

My evaluations will conclude next Friday when I rank OSU’s commitments including their chances of having an immediate impact in Stillwater.

Jacob Jenkins Gilmer (Texas)

Position: Offensive line

Ht, Wt: 6-3, 260

Picked OSU over… Houston, Missouri, TCU

I could not find any video on Jenkins. But his offer list is impressive and I believe the Cowboys have recruited him to play center. I will refrain from a evaluation until I see some video of him in action, but it’s safe to say I wouldn’t expect an impact from Jenkins until 2011 at the earliest. At 260, I think a year in the weight room is a necessity.
