With recruiting season in full swing, I will be evaluating all 26 prospects who are currently committed to the Oklahoma State football program. I will go in alphabetical order and will post three or four evaluations per day during the next week.

My evaluations will conclude next Friday when I rank OSU’s commitments including their chances of having an immediate impact in Stillwater.

Caleb Lavey, Celina (Texas)

Position: Linebacker

Ht, Wt: 6-4, 210

Vitals: 4.56 in the 40, 285 bench, 435 squat

Picked OSU over… Oklahoma, Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Texas A&M

Pros: This dude’s a beast! Lavey is the prototypical middle linebacker, yet is atypical with his speed and athleticism. A hitter who is physical and a solid tackler who plays with good leverage. Loves contact, loves to hit. Lavey has a lot of talent and projects to be at least a two year starter for the Cowboys. He has the potential to be special. Simply put, one of OSU’s top commitments yet nobody is really talking about him.
