Dana Holgorsen has goals for what to accomplish during his first fall as the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State. If the Cowboy offense is going to be as explosive as most people expect, they’re going to have to continue the progress they made during the spring. Here are the two main things Holgorsen is looking to get accomplished this August.
1. “Make sure you know your assignment. They should be on track with that, when they know what that should do at all times, that’s when you start getting good with your techinique. It’s harder to get good at the techiniques than to learn what to do.
“If your constantly trying to reteach things, you’re never going to have a chance to get good at your technique. After they learn what to do our job is to get them better at it.”
Analysis: Oklahoma State players say Holgorsen’s offense is fairly easy to learn, they picked it up in the spring and now only the incoming freshman are the main concern as far as learning their assignments. But with such a large senior class in 2009, the Cowboys are going to need several freshmen to be ready to play including running back Joseph Randle and receivers Kevin Johnson and Chris Dinkins. The quicker the newcomers learn their assignment the better for Holgorsen.
