OSU’s pursuit of 6-5 guard Damien Leonard of Greenville, S.C., has been a focus of Travis Ford’s next recruiting class. Leonard’s importance to the Cowboys became clear over the weekend when Travis Ford and assistant Butch Pierre flew in for a Sunday visit, after Leonard had returned home from a visit to the University of South Carolina.

It was a strategic move, since it appears to be down to the Cowboys and Gamecocks for Leonard’s services.

GoPokes.com caught up with Leonard’s AAU coach, Willis Holliday, to gauge the impact of the weekend on the star guard.

“I think both visits went well. I think he really enjoyed USC this weekend, and then Travis Ford and Butch Pierre came in and wanted Damien to know how they feel about him, and how important he is to Oklahoma State,” Holliday told GoPokes. “I thought the Oklahoma State visit went great.”
