Mike Gundy seemingly spent time preparing his fans for lowered expectations next fall.
Not by himself, or the program, but the national publications.
“Preseason magazines aren’t going to be that fired up about us,” Gundy said about predictions for 2012. “We’re not going to be ranked very high. But I expect our players to play very well…
“I expect to win a lot of football games.”
With the magazines due to be hitting newsstands soon, at least one still considers the Cowboys in high regard, despite the loss of Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon and others. And despite naming true freshman Wes Lunt the starting quarterback.
Athlon, one of the most established and respected of the preseason publications, pegs OSU for No. 19 in its ongoing countdown to No. 1.
