Dana Holgorsen on Oklahoma State: ‘They’ll probably know us as much about us as we know them’
Dana Holgorsen was the first coach to take the stage on Day 2 of Big 12 Media Days, and his past in the Big 12 and at Oklahoma State was certainly a popular topic.
But Holgorsen shrugged off being particularly concerned about facing Oklahoma State, a team that runs a spread system that he installed as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator in 2010. The Mouintaineers travel to Stillwater on Nov. 10.
“Every game is a concern, I can assure you that. All nine games that we play in the Big 12 is going to be a tremendous concern. They’ll probably know as much about us as we know them. We’ve got some guys defensively that come from there, obviously. We’ve got some guys offensively that come from there.
“It’ll probably be similar to the way it was back in 2000, when Coach (Mike) Leach left Oklahoma and went to Texas Tech. You had two teams playing in the same offense that knew a lot about each other. I don’t know if it’s going to help you or hurt you.
Joe DeForest and Robert Gillespie are two former OSU assistants who are now on Holgorsen’s staff at WVU.
