With Selection Sunday less than three weeks away, bracket projections are beginning to hold more relevance.

And with each succeeding version, OU and Oklahoma State continue to solidify and rise. The Sooners are coming off two expected (but still impressive) wins over Texas Tech and Baylor last week, while the Cowboys lost a heartbreaking double OT thriller to Kansas, before avenging it with a solid road win at West Virginia.

Here’s where the three major sites have them projected:

USA Today

Oklahoma State
Seed:
 5
Region: South
Opponent: Charlotte

Oklahoma
Seed:
 7
Region: West
Opponent: Play-in game

CBS Sports

Oklahoma State

ESPN bracketology

Here’s a few other observations:

-Five Big 12 teams seem securely in the field, although that could change quickly for Iowa State (who had a tough and controversial home loss to Kansas last night).

-According to both ESPN and CBS, Baylor is officially on the wrong side of the bubble, taken out of the projections for the first time this season after a disappointing 0-2 week. USA Today still has the Bears as one of its ‘last four in.’

-The Big East leads all conference with eight projected teams in the field: Georgetown, Cincinnati, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Villanova

-In addition to its bracket projection, ESPN has a nifty mathematical formula that calculates the odds of each team to make the reach the Sweet 16, Final Four or win the tournament.

-OSU is ranked 18 by the formula, with a 39.0% chance to make the Sweet 16, 6.3% chance to make the Final Four and 1.0% chance of winning it all. OU is given a 9.0%, 1.8% and 0.2% in the three categories. Not that any of that matters come March.
