What exactly is the ‘Heart of Dallas?’

That was a question I, and many Oklahoma State fans, had last night when the Cowboys tumbled to the postseason game that is played in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 1, but isn’t the actual Cotton Bowl. The Heart of Dallas Bowl is the new name for what was the TicketCity Bowl for its first two years of existence.

So where does “Heart of Dallas” come from?

According to the bowl’s Twitter account, it’s a new non-profit organization, and game proceeds will go toward “ending chronic homelessness in Dallas.” The bowl is also using the motto “college football for a cause.”

The bowl’s website is still very much under construction, but can be viewed here. I imagine it’ll be updated with events and such in the coming days.
