Two junior college players, defensive end Sam Wren and offensive lineman Brandon Garrett, have signed with Oklahoma State, coach Mike Gundy announced Wednesday.

Both players will enroll and arrive on campus in January, making them eligible to participate in spring practice.

Wren, a 6-3, 250-pound prospect, comes from Arizona Western Community College. He is a three-star prospect according to Rivals and Scout and a first-team All-Western States Football League pick. He also had offers from Arkansas, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Oregon State and Washington State.

Wren, who played his high school football at Palestine (Texas), finished the season with 14.5 sacks, which ranked second in the nation, 18 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, four pass breakups and one safety.

“Sam has a very good first step off the edge and has got the athleticism and burst to really be effective in the pass rush,” OSU defensive coordinator Bill Young said in a release. “He also has the tools to help in stopping the run. He comes from a good family and we would expect him to contribute quickly.”
