A woman suspected in the slaying of a retired doctor with a history of run-ins with the police planned to meet with him before he was attacked, court records show.

Deepak Bhasin, 58, was found dead in his home at 15800 San Nicholas Dr. about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 after police responded to a 911 call made by the victim. Bhasin had injuries consistent with homicide, police reported.

An arrest warrant was issued Monday for Jamie Lea Walker, 19, on a first-degree murder complaint.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Walker sent Bhasin text messages indicating that she and another person were meeting Bhasin within an hour of his death.

Cellphone records show Walker was in the area at the time Bhasin was killed, and the texts were the last phone contact Bhasin had, police reported.

Bhasin was arrested five times on misdemeanor complaints between 1996 and June 2012, records show.
