Blackmon unknown — for now

Plainview’s Justin Blackmon is off to a hot start.

The senior had four catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns and had a 39-yard interception return for a touchdown. He is also Plainview’s kick and punt returner, although he wasn’t given the chance to do any damage that way.

Oh, and he can punt, too. Blackmon pinned Blanchard inside the five-yard line twice.

Blackmon went to camps at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State this summer. OSU contacts him weekly, but he has been relatively unknown to most college coaches.

Last season, Blackmon had 697 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, as well as four interceptions on defense.

“I think it’s just because (Plainview is) a small school,” Blackmon said. “People think I wouldn’t be able to do it up with the big classes. I think that’s what it mostly is.”
