Defending Class B state champion Morrison is finally getting a chance to play a good, quality opponent.

Not to take anything away from Weleetka and Prue — Morrison’s first two opponents — but they really weren’t much of a test. And the games were at home.

But now, Morrison is traveling to face a dangerous Porter team that is coming off a 50-8 win over Gans.

“We have gotten to hook up and get after it,” Morrison coach Cory Bales said.

Bales also said that his players are excited for a challenge. He was quick to point out, though, that he didn’t want to take anything away from Prue or Weleetka, who Morrison beat by a combined score of 100-0.

Last season, Morrison shut Prue out, 49-0.
