Unbeaten Midwest City (3-0) will stick with its quarterback tandem of Vershon Moore and Jace Chilcoat who have both been effective in moving the ball.

“They each have different strengths, right now we think we need to stick with what we’re doing,” coach Steve Huff said.

Huff wouldn’t rule out going to a one-quarterback system, but added it would be down the road if and when that happens. One reason is Chilcoat’s health. He’s been recovering from a broken foot and Moore spent most of the off-season preparing to start at quarterback.

MOSIER STILL AT IT

Community Christian School football coach Brooks Mosier turns 72 next month, but it hasn’t slowed him down. Mosier returned to the coaching ranks this year after a two-year absence during which he battled colon cancer. We’ll have more about Mosier’s life in and out of coaching in Friday’s Oklahoman.
