Southeast has work to do offensively

While Southeast coach Michael Branch was happy with the way his defensive line played in Thursday night’s scrimmage against Noble, we was less-than-thrilled with his offense.

“We made a lot of mistakes offensively” Branch said. “But now we know where we are and what we’ve got to work on.”

The Spartans return eight starters on offense.

One of them in quarterback Jay Gogue, who Branch said did a good job in the scrimmage.

Southeast is one of the teams that OKCPS athletic director Phil Ingersoll thinks has a chance to make the playoffs.

“We have two that definitely should be in (Douglass and Star Spencer) and a few others that have a chance,” Ingersoll said. “We need to get to the point where we’re getting five teams consistently in the playoffs.”
