Though he has never played high school football, Noble quarterback Damian McBride, is settling in nicely for the Bears.

Friday, in a scrimmage against El Reno, McBride showed promise.

“He’s progressing,” said Noble coach Ray Crawley. “As a team, we’re inexperienced and it showed. But our quarterback definitely played better. Our offense definitely played better. We’re still not where we want to be, but we showed a lot of improvement from last week.”

Running back Matt Kent ran for 70 yards on seven carries, giving Noble optimism about its running game. Talented receiver Will Starr snared a 40-yard touchdown pass and fellow wideout Austin Mann had a 30-yard reception.
