On the fact that this subject has overshadowed Southmoore players this preseason and how his son, Kendal, the Southmoore quarterback, shouldn’t be subjected to this distraction:
“This has been unfair to the kids on the team. It’s not right that my son has to deal with this. He’s out there to play quarterback. And that’s all anyone should be talking about. Being my son shouldn’t be a death penalty.”
On the fact that many high school coaches have had the same declaration that recruiting has been going on:
“All it is, in my opinion, is an attempt to bring down Southmoore by some coaches who haven’t done things the way Chris (Jensen) has. They see where this program is headed and they don’t like how fast it’s happening or that it’s being done in the right way. And maybe they haven’t done it the right way and maybe they aren’t having the success that Southmoore could have.”
