Tigers' schedule: Football, cross country host big events
Football and cross country are hosting events this week, but every other team is on the road.
Coming off a disappointing loss to Norman North last Thursday, the Tigers’ football squad will host Del City Thursday at Harve Collins Field at 7:30 p.m. It will be the team’s debut at home.
The cross country squad will host the OK Runner Classic at the course behind Irving Middle School (of of 24th Avenue). It’s one of the biggest XC events of the year because Norman is hosting a regional later this season and teams want to get a feel for the course. As many as 32 teams are expected to be there.
Coach Staci Vest takes the volleyball squad will to Edmond Santa Fe for a tournament beginning Friday and continuing Saturday. Meanwhile, Tim Gonzales’ fastpitch softball squad will play in the Plainview Tournament Thursday and Friday.
