Three questions: Tuttle vs. Hilldale
How much of a test is Hilldale for Tuttle?
Hilldale is coming of a 7-6 win over Collinsville and is a 4A schoo, one up from the Tigers. Still, they were 1-9 last year so there’s not a lot of talent in the cupboard. Every game is a test, but for Tuttle, this is more about staying healthy and the final tune up before district play begins at Elgin.
Where can the Tigers improve?
Having watched them last week, this is a good to great team in the making. Tanner Koons looks comfortable running the offense. The blocking has been generally good and there are plenty of weapons, like Bryce Ebert who hauled in a 97-yard TD catch last week. On defense, Tuttle played very well against Kingfisher limiting the Yellowjackets to just one score. On special teams, Tuttle lined up incorrectly on a kickoff which was frustrating to coach Phil Koons. What I sense right now with Tuttle is that it’s just a matter of fine tuning the little things.
Who will have a breakout game for Tuttle this week?
Keep an eye on Ebert. He’s not a big kid, but he is physical and has speed. On his touchdown catch he broke what looked like a pretty good tackle from one of KF’s safeties and went the distance. He should be a weapon moving forward and this week provides a good opportunity to show off his skills.
