Players of the week: Moore Zone

 

FOOTBALL

Kendal Thompson, Southmoore

The junior quarterback had just three incompletions in 19 pass attempts and accounted for five touchdowns in the SaberCats’ 46-28 win at Lawton.

Thompson threw for 217 yards and two TDs, with no interceptions, and ran for three scores.

 

Others:

Austin Haywood, Southmoore

The tight end caught a pair of touchdown passes against Lawton, one from nine yards out and another from 13, and provided his usual superb defensive play. For the game he had four catches for 65 yards.

 

Andrew Long, Southmoore

Long backed up a career-high 173 yards against Edmond Santa Fe with 143 yards on 29 carries. The sophomore ran for  a 13-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion. He also had seven receptions for 89 yards.

 

Sam York, Southmoore

The SaberCats’ kicker booted a 24-yard field goal and five extra points in the win over Lawton.

 

Ryland Widener, Southmoore

The senior defensive tackle helped Southmoore stuff Lawton’s run game, holding the Wolverines to just 54 yards on 31 carries.

 

Brandon Eddins, Moore

Eddins came in for starting quarterback Vova Razryvin and threw his first touchdown pass of the season in a loss to Mustang.

 

Grant Linstead, Moore

Scored the Lions’ lone touchdown in a 42-6 loss to Mustang on a 10-yard reception.
