The Edmond teams are definitely among the best cross country clubs in the state, both the boys and girls teams.

And with the state meet approaching next week, here’s a short Q&A with one of Santa Fe’s best runners, senior Alyssa Nale.

What was your “welcome to Varsity” sports moment?

Nale: Running cross country at state during my freshman year and experiencing all the excitement.

Other than you, who is the best athlete in the family?

Nale: My older brother because sports just come so natural for him. He was a great football, basketball and baseball player. He was blessed with the natural ability of being athletic.

Bucket List time. What are some of the things you want to do?

Nale: Go skydiving, marry a “future” Olympic decathlete, go on a cruise and graduate from college.

If you could trade places with one person, who would it be and why?

Nale: Shawn Johnson because she is cute, sweet and small, and I would to be able to experience the world of gymnastics and to be an Olympic gold medalist at the age of 17.
