MEMORIAL 10, NORTH 0 – FINAL

Wow. Wow. Wow.

It deserves three of them. What a defensive outing by Memorial. Wow, OK, a fourth.

Nelson Medeiros clinches the game with a 49-yard INT return for a touchdown with 2:21 left in the game.

That defense is a bad man, I tells ya, holding North 75 total yards and picking off Travis Townsend three times.

Medeiros was lifted onto the shoulders of his teammates in a truly great visual (and video) moment as I havta eat crown on this one. Look for another vid with Medeiros this weekend.

Wow, OK, a fifth time.

MEMORIAL 3, NORTH 0 – HALFTIME

8:32 – It’s almost at a point where if it’s a five-yard gain, everyone is getting excited. Some great defensive plays combined with some bad plays on offense, and this is what you have.

Right now, the teams are stalling themselves. Just when either team looks like it’s getting momentum, a negative play happens and the drive is done.

The only scoring came on an impressive 44-yd FG by Memorial’s Will Conant. Boomed that sucker through. North’s Austin Brasher missed a 45-yarder in the second quarter.

Memorial’s Jared Chambers sacked Travis Townsend, and Townsend hasn’t been the same since. In his second pass after the sack, he threw his first INT of the season as Jordan Marczewski picked it off in the final minute.

Memorial couldn’t cash in as Kameron Doolittle was picked off by Brandon Downing on the final play of the half.
