Last year the greatest High School Football Rivalries was released, and it was a lot of fun. One of the main features was on Tulsa Union and Jenks. It chronicled the 43-42 Union win in overtime in 2007. Jenks, of course, would defeat Union in the championship later that year.

I don’t know how I got on the mailing list, but I received a release yesterday that the documentary will be on NFL Network on Friday at noon. If you have digital cable, that’s Cox 252.

If you like the Redskins or Trojans, it might be a way to fire you up before the team’s respective battles in the semis (Jenks vs. Southmoore and Union vs. Broken Arrow).

Perfect timing here. Doesn’t interfere with the Friday night games and doesn’t interfere with Bedlam between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State on Saturday.

On that note, how lucky are we (the high school community) that Bedlam is at 11:30 this year? With HS games at 7:30, we can all watch Bedlam and then head out to our respective game. For me, after numerous long drives (including one to Pawhuska on Friday), I’m only going about 25 miles to Yukon to watch Weatherford and Douglass.
