Just under the wire before kickoffs, here’s the way Scott, Bob and myself see this weekend’s playoff action shaping up:

Overall records:
Ryan:
94-26
Scott: 92-28
Bob: 91-29

CLASS 6A
Bob
The picks: Jenks over Southmoore; Tulsa Union over Broken Arrow
The take: Feeling pretty good about this. I’m a firm believer in the ‘playoff test.’ Southmoore had its test vs. Lawton Eisenhower. Well, Jenks had its battle with Edmond Memorial. The Trojans are going to be ready and Zack Langer is extremely impressive.

Ryan
The picks: Jenks over Southmoore; Tulsa Union over Broken Arrow
The take: I’ll never pick against Jenks or Union in the playoffs again until someone else wins a title.

Scott
The picks: Jenks over Southmoore, Tulsa Union over Broken Arrow
The take: Southmoore could be the team to break the Jenks-Union stranglehold on 6A, but I’ll have to see it to believe it.

CLASS 5A
Bob
The picks: Carl Albert over El Reno; Guthrie over Bixby
The take: Oh boy, talk about two teams that have killed me all season in Guthrie and Bixby. I haven’t had a read on ’em all year. Think Kentrell Brothers makes the difference.

Ryan
The picks: Guthrie over Bixby; Carl Albert over El Reno
The take: Still feeling good about Carl Albert for champions pick, although anything can happen tonight. Guthrie-Bixby are two teams that have continuously confounded me throughout the season.

Scott
The picks: Guthrie over Bixby; El Reno over Carl Albert.
The take: Picking against CA scares me a bit after their playoff showing so far, but I think El Reno still has the defense to win the title. I’ve picked against Guthrie twice and been wrong. Bluejay fans should be terrified to see me pick them to win this week.

CLASS 4A
Bob
The picks: Star Spencer over Sallisaw; Weatherford over Douglass
The take: Super pumped (not just pumped) about seeing the Eagles and Trojans. If Week 8 was any indication, better get strapped in for another barn-burner.

Ryan
The picks: Star Spencer over Sallisaw; Douglass over Weatherford
The take: I think Douglass’ turnover problem is in its past and that makes the difference. Feeling much less confident in Star Spencer-Sallisaw. The Black Diamonds have their defense back to 100 percent and Matt Oberste is one of the best QBs around. But the Bobcats’ line is huge and they have two of the best running backs anywhere.

Scott
The picks: Star Spencer over Sallisaw; Weatherford over Douglass.
The take: I’m not going to lie. I don’t feel real confident in either of these picks. And if I made the opposite picks, I’d say the same thing… 4A is anybody’s trophy to win.
