In his first meet of the season, Norman senior Parker Bowles tied the school record in the 1,600 meters.

Bowles’ time of 4:22.24 equaled the indoor record time set by Scott Crocker at the Myriad in 1981. The 4:22 clocking also is faster than any 1,600 time posted in Oklahoma last season. Bowles also ran a 1:59.48 in the 800 at the Arkansas High School Invitational to place second.
