Player of the week: Moore Zone

Tara Martini, Moore

Girls basketball

The two-sport standout senior led the Lions to a 46-41 victory over rival Westmoore with a game-high 21 points on Friday. Martini also led all scorers in Moore’s 44-42 triumph over the Jaguars in December. Martini hit four three-pointers in the game, including three in the second half.

Tilford Thornton, Southmoore

Boys basketball

The 6-3 junior scored a game-high 21 points in leading the SaberCats to a 77-53 victory over Norman Friday. Thornton spurred a second-quarter run that blew the game open. Southmoore outscored the Tigers 24-7 en route to the win that improved the SaberCats’ record to 13-4.

Brandon Lucas, Southmoore

Boys basketball

Lucas scored 17 points in the win over Norman and added six rebounds and two steals.

Austin Haywood, Southmoore

Boys basketball

Two days after sigining his national letter of intent to play football for Oklahoma, the senior forward scored 13 points and had eight rebounds in Friday’s blowout win over Norman.

Kabria Harkey, Westmoore

Girls basketball

Harkey led the Jaguars with 15 points in Friday’s loss to Moore.

Sidney Cooke, Southmoore

Girls basketball

The sophomore scored a team-high 11 points in a 63-36 loss to Norman.
