Edmond POW: Garrett Hermanski, Deer Creek...

Could there be anyone else? After all I’ve said about Deer Creek’s Garrett Hermanski, is this really that big of a shock?
Great shooting, clutch free throws, poise under pressure and leading the team to two big wins is more than enough for Hermanski to win the Edmond Player of the Week.
He couldn’t be guarded on Saturday as he made seven 3-pointers. The seventh one had me laughing as coach Matt Bailey was asking him to pull it out and set up the offense.
But with the way he was playing last weekend, he got the greenlight whenever he wanted it. If Deer Creek can sustain this momentum into 2010, look out for the Antlers.
While Hermanski is definitely the go-to guy for this team, there are a lot of other key contributors that will help determine how good this team will be. Right now, hmm, looks like this team will be pretty dang good.
Other contenders
A.J. Miller, Deer Creek, Basketball: Miller kept the girls team together this weekend as DC went 1-1 at the Deer Creek Festival.
