GIRLS BIG SCHOOL Basketball Power Poll

1. Midwest City (6A), 17-2: One coach didn’t vote the Bombers No. 1 in Class 6A in the rankings last week. Seriously? Only one team has played MWC within 20 in its last nine games, and that was Edmond Memorial’s 19-point loss last Tuesday.

2. Harrah (4A), 21-1: Only one opponent has scored in the 40s on the Panthers since December.

3. Norman (6A), 17-3: Tonight’s game at Midwest City is basically a state tournament warm up.

4. Edmond North (6A), 18-2: Quietly taking care of business game in and game out. Tonight’s meeting with Edmond Santa Fe will tell a lot.

5. Edmond Santa Fe (6A), 16-3: In the past 10 days, the Wolves lost key player in Jimi Blagowsky and were beaten twice by Choctaw. Tonight’s game against rival Huskies can answer a lot of questions.

6. Cache (4A), 21-0: Actually got a test last week in seven-point win over Clinton.

7. Carl Albert (5A), 17-4: The Titans are so ready for the playoffs to start. They’ve basically been counting the seconds since the buzzer of the championship game last March.

8. Vinita (4A), 20-1: Completely unchallenged in the month of February.
