Player of the week: Moore Zone
Mikey Moore, Moore

Although the Lions lost three games, the senior had a remarkable week. Moore started the week with a respectable nine points in a loss to Southmoore on Tuesday. But his Thursday and Friday outings were terrific. The 5-10 standout scored 24 points and almost led the Lions to a stunning upset of Norman North in a one-point loss Thursday. Friday he followed up with 20 points against Midwest City.

Moore’s totals were game-highs in two of his three games last week.

Boys basketball
Snyder scored a combined 21 points in two games, including 14 against Southmoore.

Austin Salyer, Moore
Boys basketball
The junior scored a season-high 18 points in a loss to Southmoore and capped the week with 10 points against Midwest City.

Blake Pulliam, Westmoore
Boys basketball
The 5-11 junior was outstanding in a pair of games for the Jaguars, scoring team-highs in games against Edmond Memorial and Norman.
Pulliam scored 20 points against the Bulldogs and followed with 16 against Norman.

Beau Palmer, Westmoore
Boys basketball
Palmer had his second-highest scoring game of the season with 12 points against Edmond Memorial on Tuesday.

Austin Haywood, Southmoore
Boys basketball
Haywood, an All-State football player, was terrific in two one-bucket victories. The Oklahoma signee scored a game-high 20 points in a 66-64 victory win over rival Moore. Then he followed with a team-high 18 points in a 63-61 overtime win over Norman North.

Kendal Thompson, Southmoore
Boys basketball
Thompson hit a pair of buzzer-beaters to lead Southmoore to a victory over Norman North. The junior hit a three-pointer at the horn to tie things up at the end of regulation, then hit an 18-footer on the final shot of the game in overtime. He scored 10 points in the game.

Tilford Thornton, Southmoore
Boys basketball
The SaberCats’ leading scorer had a combined 27 points in two two-point victories.
