Edmond Memorial vs. Norman

Was doing a little research on the Edmond Memorial girls team and couldn’t believe it’s been six years since their last trip to state.

But after double and triple checking the facts, yeah, it has been that long since Shane Coffey’s girls punched their ticket.

And even after losing five of seven games in a brutal two-week stretch in January, Coffey never doubted that this could be the team to bring ‘em back to state.

A trip out east helped matters, but the Bulldogs are playing so well that I don’t think it really would have mattered where they were sent.

As I said in Monday’s POW post, think senior Maddie Johnson is the key to this team. She’s starting to really play like the way she did before her injury late last year.
