With the game-winning goal Thursday night in a No. 2 vs. No. 3 battle between Class 6A powers Edmond Memorial and Norman North, Stuart Turnipseed showed he’s become one of the premier players in boys soccer.

In the biggest match of the regular season to this point, Turnipseed put the ball in the net just four minutes into the Bulldogs’ win over the T-Wolves. The game was tight the rest of the way  —  Edmond Memorial and Norman North each had 12 shots after Turnipseed’s goal  —  but the tally held up as Memorial moved to 6-0 on the season with its third straight win over Norman North dating back to the 2008 state final.

Turnipseed, a senior forward, has seven goals and four assists this season. The Bulldogs shouldn’t be challenged in their next three matches, but play No. 6 Mustang on April 16.
