Player of the week: Norman Zone

Shiloh Farris, Norman

Girls soccer

Farris scored the winning goal for the Tigers in a 1-0 victory over Yukon Thursday. Norman outshot the Millerettes 11-3, but could only break through once as Farris netted the second-half game-winner.

Others:

Cale Russell, Norman North

Baseball

Russell struck out 11 batters and had a pair of RBIs as the T-Wolves knocked off rival Norman.

Quincy Taylor, Norman

Girls track

Taylor, ranked in the top five in Class 6A among hurdlers, placed second at the Moore track meet on Friday. Taylor ran a 17.2 in the 100 intermediate hurdles, finishing less than a full second off of the wining time.

Al Maeder, Norman

Boys track

Mader ran a 10:05 in the two-mile run at the Moore Invitational last Friday, winning first place by seven seconds.
