Scholar-Athlete Awards set for Tuesday

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Awards Dinner honoring some of the state’s top scholar athletes will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jim Thorpe Museum and Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.

The featured speaker for the event is Jay Wilkinson, the son of legendary OU football coach Bud Wilkinson.

The 12 NFF Scholar-Athlete Award winners are Tuttle’s Ethan Biddy, Tulsa McLain’s Rondale Boyd, Deer Creek’s Leighton Dilbeck, Guthrie’s Christian Lamb, Tulsa Union’s Robert Lind, Pauls Valley’s Caleb Livingston, Hennessey’s Matt Luetjen, Stroud’s Andrew Miller, Jenks’ Tyler Ott, Carl Albert’s J.T. Realmuto and Kremlin-Hillsdale’s Jacob Streck.

Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Bill Young will be presented with the Merv Johnson Integrity in Coaching Award.

Individual tickets to the dinner are still available for $60, as are table sponsorships seating eight for $400. To purchase tickets, call 325-8567.
