Coming down the stretch of the baseball season. It’s getting here faster and faster, especially for Casady.

The Cyclones will be in the Southwest Prep Conference championships next weekend, but they have some unfinished business first with some familiar friends.

Casady took on Holland Hall on Wednesday. And paced by senior Ryan Shelley, the Cyclones earned an 8-6 victory.

Shelley had three hits, including a home run and three RBIs to give pitcher Cale Shivers enough run support to earn the win on the mound.

One rival down, one more to go. Monday is the showdown between Casady and Heritage Hall at Casady (I’ll be there). When the teams played in March, Heritage edged out a 1-0 game.

The emotion is already going to be high because of the rivalry, but when you think about this being the final game for this special group of Casady seniors, yea, the intensity is going to be high for this one.
