McAlester: Taylor Dewbery trying out for Junior National Team...

McAlester softball star Taylor Dewbery is one of 42 girls in 13 states trying out for the 2010-11 USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team this week in Chula Vista, Calif.

The three-day event begins Thursday and runs through Saturday. The 17-player team will be selected June 15.

Dewbery, who will be a junior this season, has been a dominant pitcher for the Buffaloes the last two seasons. She helped McAlester advance to the Class 5A championship last year.

If selected to the team, Dewbery will play in the Pan-Am Championships in Colombia in August.
