Super 30: And another thing ... about Trent Martin

There aren’t many players I’ll talk to this year who will be more driven than Trent Martin. The Jenks linebacker is seriously fired up about his upcoming senior season and he doesn’t mind saying that he thinks he has something to prove.

Already committed to Tulsa, Martin doesn’t have to worry about impressing college coaches. However, he feels like the six and a half games he missed last year after breaking his leg means he didn’t meet expectations. Of course, he knows there was nothing he could do about the injury or time missed. And the fact that he came back in time for the playoffs shows his determination and toughness.

Still, he told me that there was hype surrounding him before last season and he wants to prove that it was warranted attention.

I wouldn’t doubt him. He’s already in game-night mode.
