Brenna Burnett changes plans to play in Florida, now will attend OBU
Once bound for Florida, Brenna Burnett wound up in Shawnee.
Burnett originally signed with Palm Beach Atlantic to play her college basketball. However, after a coaching change at the school, the Dale standout elected to trade the Florida beaches for the familiarity of home.
Thursday, Burnett signed with Oklahoma Baptist University. The Class 2A All-State selection led Dale, coached by her father, Benny Burnett, to the state championship this past season. She averaged 16.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.
“When I visited (OBU) it felt like coming home,” Burnett said. “Especially because my dad coached me all that time. It means that he can still come and watch me play.”
