A little late on this but trying to catch up on everything. Edmond Memorial upended Norman North 9-5 in the finals of the Pure Prairie League state tournament last weekend in Enid.

Norman North defeated Midwest City in the semis while Memorial ousted Putnam North. And interestingly enough, three of those four teams represented the west side in the state tournament in May.

The only representative not there was Edmond Santa Fe as the Bombers knocked off the Wolves.

“This is a big deal,” Norman North coach Charles Redman said. “These are our high school teams for next year. We looked at this as the continuation of our season.”

The Timberwolves have closed up shop for the summer at 29-8.

Waiting to hear back from Memorial coach Kyle Roberts to see who stood out when it came to the Bulldogs.

Got summer baseball news? Don’t by shy, hit me up in an e-mail. Appreciate it.

Got in touch with Roberts, and he said it’s just been an absolute team effort right now by the Bulldogs. The starting pitching has been fantastic, but he didn’t want to single out any of them because it’s been a TEAM thing.

And talking to him found out Memorial is taking on Pryor in the finals of the American Legion Tournament in Enid. It’s a best-of-3 series with Pryor leading 3-1 in the fourth of the first game that was suspended by rain. Keep ya posted.
