The US Youth Olympic girls volleyball team overcame a late deficit in the first game to sweep Japan in three games in the semifinals Tuesday morning.

The Americans trailed 19-17 in the first game but rallied to notch eight of the next nine points for a 25-20 win. The scores were 25-23 and 25-23 in the other two games.

Edmond Memorial’s Micha Hancock once again started the game at setter.

The US (3-0) plays Belgium in the finals Thursday. The Americans defeated Belgium in a tough five-game match on Sunday.
