Moore: Season outlook...
By Justin Hite
Moore
Offensive outlook: Quarterback Vova Razryvin is an athlete under center. He was forced to be last year but still racked up more 1,200 yards of total offense. He needs help. Running back/wide receiver/quarterback Brandon Eddins brings athleticism to the Lions, but football is not a two-player game. Moore will have to find for help for Razryvin to break through on the win column this season.
Determining the defense: The man in the middle, senior David Cowan, registered 91 tackles last season and will probably need more for takedowns for a defense that needs a few extra playmakers after losing Chris Clark and Dalton Hillard. Van Gray, 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, will provide some beef up front and could emerge as a playmaker, but there are question marks on the rest of the line.
Key game: If Moore is going to get out of the winless category, there may be no better time than early. The Lions get Westmoore in Week 1 and then Choctaw in Week 4. After that, the hope goes away thanks to the tough 6A-1 schedule the Lions have to run through. Moore goes on the road to Choctaw and Iām sure the Lions would rather have their best chance at a victory at home.
Bold prediction: Moore will erase their winless 2009 season. The Lions travel to Choctaw on Sept. 24 and experience their first victory of the season.
