Del City at Midwest City
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Jim Darnell Stadium, MWC (late change, I will be there)

Del City
Why the Eagles can win
: Because Chazten Gonzales is even better than he was last year. Granted, WRs Donavan Dan and Chris McAlister are gone, but Greg Johnson and Marquis Walters are going to become familiar names. RB Adrian Fletcher is a tough customer to bring down.

Quote:

We’re not happy with how last year ended. We did a lot of things right, but we didn’t finish. This year is all about the finish.” – OL Jamelle Naff

Midwest City
Why the Bombers can win
: Greg Austin is comfortable at quarterback. Running back James Flanders knows he’s the No. 1 back, and there are a bevy of wide receivers who can make plays. Oh yea, and the defense should be one of the best units in the state.

Quote:

It’s all about the gold ball. We’re just counting it down until this one begins. This is why you put in all the work.” – DL Trevon Lewis

Key matchup: Well, since I wrote a whole post about it earlier this week, guess I can’t stray from the Del City offense against the Midwest City defense. No singular matchup in the state intrigues me more than this one.

The pick: Midwest City 27, Del City 25. I’m expecting a classic in this one. I’m even going out on a limb and saying Del City is going to need a two-point conversion to tie it late in the game but is denied. Can’t wait to see what this atmosphere is like.
