Del City (0-1) at Norman North (0-1)
When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday
Where: Harve Collins Field (I’ll be there)
TV: KSBI (Cox 7)

Del City ( L – MWC 35-13)
Why the Eagles can win: Because the offense has so many weapons. Chazten Gonzales settled down after a rough start. Greg Johnson is an incredibly versatile talent and Marquis Walters had a big night and is emerging as the top receiving target. Four turnovers was Del City’s undoing last week.

Norman North (L – Norman 24-7)
Why the Timberwolves can win: Because they’re looking for that bounce back win, too. They get the benefit of having to go through it in front of their home crowd. After scoring early and taking a 7-3 lead, North never scored again. TWolves have way too much firepower for something like that to happen again, right?

Key matchup: North running game vs. Del City defense. The running game was supposed to be the strength. With Raymond Demby and Emilio Gatewood, there wasn’t supposed to be a game where the two couldn’t combine for 100 yards. The team only had 80 yards on 34 attempts last week, less than 3 yards per carry.

The pick: Norman North 22, Del City 16. Timberwolves will look to control the clock in this one with a good ground game. If DC can stop the attack, it’s going to be a fun one. If not, North should be able to grind out its first victory.
