This rivalry should be a fun one to watch. Southmoore has dominated the rivalry in recent history and comes will plenty of talent. There’s a small collection of D-I on the other side of the football as well. The playmakers alone keep this one interesting.

Westmoore Jaguars (1-0) vs. Southmoore SaberCats (1-0)
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Moore Stadium

Westmoore (1-0)
Why the Jaguars can win
: Westmoore has the offense to control a ball and win in three yards and a cloud of dust on almost every play. They’ll have to get a big push up front, but have a new offensive mentality. That mentality will have to be effective on Friday.

Quote: “We want our first city championship since the new school. We’re just trying to get that and we’re working really hard. It’d mean a lot to get it.” – Running back Cody Feuerborn.

Southmoore SaberCats (1-0)
Why the SaberCats can win:
Southmoore showed last Friday that they can score from anywhere on the field. All they need is a small crack or seam and running back Andrew Long is taking it the distance or quarterback Kaleb Thompson is finding an open receiver.

Key matchup: Westmoore secondary vs. Kendal Thompson. Westmoore got beat up late last week through the air. Kendal Thompson is a step up from most quarterbacks in Oklahoma and Westmoore will have to step up its pass defense.

The pick: Southmoore 42, Westmoore 10. Southmoore had to come from behind last week, but this week they won’t. The SaberCats will be a step faster than the Jaguars almost everywhere on the field and Westmoore doesn’t have an offense fit for a comeback.
