Del City: Home sweet home...

All the Mid-Del schools received new fields this summer. Carl Albert and Midwest City broke theirs in during Week 1, but Del City has had to wait.

After opening on the road the first two weeks, the Eagles welcome Norman to Del City on Friday and will ‘black out’ the stadium.

A lot of schools are ‘pinking out’ their stadium for Win-Win week, a statewide cancer awareness program. This is Del City’s spin on it.

Students and fans will also be wearing baby blue ribbons in support of coach Nick Warehime who is battling prostate cancer. ‘Team Warehime’ shirts will also be available.

There is just a different feeling with this team as they all want to play so hard for Warehime. I won’t be able to make it out there, but Ryan Aber will have you covered for the Eagles and Tigers.

This is a good test for the Norman defense. The Tigers have given up 14 total points in two wins, but good luck against Chazten Gonzales, Greg Johnson, Adrian Fletcher, Marquis Walters and Quinn Ashford. If Norman keeps this group to seven points, that will really say something.
