Carl Albert isn’t the only Mid-Del softball team on an incredible roll right now.

It’s tough to not make too big a deal about it, but that’s the job of Midwest City softball coach Amber Gorman.

Facing one tough team after another last weekend, the Bombers proved to be the best of the best. Midwest City defeated five top-10 teams in the process to earn the tournament championship at OU.

“I was actually kind of nervous because of all the good teams we were playing,” Gorman said. “The girls worked extremely hard and beating Yukon did a lot for our confidence.”

Junior Tiana Jordan sparked things with a grand slam against 4A’s No. 2-ranked Blanchard.

The Bombers also defeated Washington (3A No. 3), Deer Creek (5A No. 8), El Reno (5A No. 9) and Yukon (6A No. 2) en route to the championship.
