A couple of the Mid-Del teams are sitting pretty as we begin district action this week. Let’s take a little look at what’s happened.

Midwest City (3-0)
In between two blowouts was a really good win at Enid. All the expected stars have stepped up for Steve Huff’s club on both sides of the ball.

Quarterback Greg Austin has made some huge throws when he’s needed to. And we knew junior RB James Flanders was going to play a big role, but he’s been even better than expected so far.

The defense is being anchored by Trevon Lewis, but the one name I keep seeing is Carlos Morales. And that’s kinda the theme of the Bombers: Someone new is always going to step up. Morales leads the team in tackles. Lewis has six sacks.

Week 4: The No. 1 game of the week (in my opinion), vs. Yukon on Friday night (Scott Wright will be there).

Carl Albert (2-1)
Was a little skeptical of this team after the 12-10 loss to Booker T., but the offense has shut me up in the last couple of games in dominating 34-6 wins at Ardmore and 42-10 whipping of Duncan.

Problem is this Titans team is going to have find out what life is like without junior Dillan Dansby. Coach Gary Rose said Dansby was coming along beautifully but suffered a knee injury in the third quarter Friday.
