Westmoore: No more surprises in cross country...
By Justin Hite
The Westmoore Jaguars girls’ cross country team got its first taste of the teams in the western half of the state and they must have enjoyed it Saturday at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree.
The Jaguars finished third, but were the best Oklahoma finisher by 50 points. The second-best team, Jenks, is one of the Jaguars’ primary competitors for the Class 6A state title.
“We’ve finally seen all the schools that are the dominant schools in cross country, both male and female,” coach Laura Clay said. “Now, we know how we stack up and we know what we need to work on. We know what else we have to do to attain the goals that we had at the end of the season.”
Westmoore has won twice this season and the third-place finish last weekend is the worst finish of the season.
