Bristow (2-2, 1-0) at Star Spencer (1-3, 1-0)
When:
7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Twidwell Stadium

Last week: Bristow edged Little Axe 27-26 in overtime. Star Spencer ended a winless start with a 28-20 victory over Chandler.

Why Bristow could win: The Pirates have been solid on defense and in the run game, led by Leonard Fullbright at 435 yards and six touchdowns so far. This district is wide-open, so anyone who can get to 2-0 will be in a good position goingf forward.

Why Star could win: The Bobcat defense, led by LB Kenneth Davis, is better than the scores show. Davis had 16 tackles, forced two turnovers, returning one for a TD and rushing for another score last week agianst Chandler. And the passing game with QB Darion Bogus and receivers Carlos Hutson, Derrick Ward and others has picked up, too.

Key matchup: Star RBs vs. Bristow run-stoppers. Star doesn’t want to have to throw more than about 15 times a game, so they need the run game to carry a good chunk of the load. If they can move the ball on the ground, they should be in good shape for the victory.

The pick: Star 21, Bristow 14. Another big week from Davis will keep the Bobcats unbeaten in the district heading into what will be a huge game at Perkins next week.
